About the GNM programme
GNM is the most accessible route into professional nursing because it accepts students from Arts and Commerce streams as well as Science. In three years of academic study plus a six-month compulsory internship, you gain the clinical competence required to register as an RN/RM with your State Nursing Council.
The programme balances community health, midwifery and medical-surgical nursing. A large share of your training happens in real clinical settings — maternity homes, PHCs, district hospitals and our partner tertiary-care units — so you learn delivery-room assistance, newborn care, immunisation and ward management hands-on.
After GNM you can work immediately as a Staff Nurse, or bridge into Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing (2 years) to unlock lecturer roles, higher pay bands and international opportunities.
Affiliated to Karnataka Nursing Council. Approved by KSDNEB, Karnataka Nursing Council.

GNM — frequently asked questions
Yes. GNM accepts students from any 10+2 stream as long as English was a compulsory subject and you meet the minimum percentage. This is the main reason GNM is so popular with non-science students who want a healthcare career.
